Poetry in the Classroom

Learning to write poetry can improve writing of all types. Unfortunately, poetry isn’t easy to teach. Hopefully, the exercises I’ve included here will not only help students improve their poetry, but enjoy the writing process as well. They include individual, group exercises and vocabulary expanders.

Using My Books

Ever since my first book “Rimshots” came out in 1999, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing how teachers have used my books in the classroom. What you see here is a culmination of some of those exercises along with some of my own. Enjoy!

28 Facts About 28 Days

When I wrote 28 Days there was a great deal of research involved. I learned some very unique and interesting things about people and events but not all of that info made it into the book. I pride myself on my research and am more than happy to share some behind the scenes facts here with you. You can also bring this book to life with your class as a skype visit.
